This document explains how to configure Windows (Vista) Mail to use the POP protocol on the CVC Internet Server.
IMPORTANT: | These procedures have been written for the latest version of this client. If you have problems configuring your client, please update your software to the latest version. To update Windows (Vista) Mail, you must perform a Windows Update. |
Please allow time for pictorials to appear.
1.) Open Windows (Vista) Mail , go to Tools menu and select Accounts.
2.) In the "Internet Accounts" screen, click the "Add" button.
3.) In the "Select Account Type" screen, make sure 'Email Account' is selected and click on the "Next" button.
4.) In the "Your Name" screen, enter your Display Name. (This is your full name as you would like it to appear when you send messages to other people.) Then click Next.
5.) In the "Internet E-mail Address" screen, enter your E-mail Address (lowercase characters, no spaces).
6.) In the "Set Up E-mail Servers" screen, complete the following:
7.) In the "Internet Mail Login" screen,
enter the E-mail Username and Password
for your e-mail account (enter in lowercase
characters). Next, click on the box
beside "Save Password", then click the
Next
button.
8.) In the Finish screen, make sure 'Do not download my e-mail and folders at this time' checkbox is checked and click "Finish" button to return to your account list.
9.) In the "Internet Accounts" screen, highlight your CVC Internet account, then click the "Properties" button.
10.) At the top of the "Properties window, click on the 'Advanced' tab.
At the bottom of the "Properties" window, click Apply, then click OK.
Your are now ready to use Windows (Vista) Mail. For information on how to use Windows (Vista) Mail, please refer to the Help menu located at the top of the Windows (Vista) Mail window.
